Bellows Falls Woman’s Club hears from GFWC-VT president

BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – At the Oct. 13 meeting of the Bellows Falls Woman’s Club, Darlene Remy, president of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Vermont (GFWC-VT), spoke on the history of GFWC and the benefits of belonging to this worldwide organization for women. The local club is a member of GFWC, whose signature project is domestic and sexual violence awareness and prevention. Also at the meeting, plans for the upcoming food and bake sale, to be held in conjunction with the Walpole Library’s book sale at the Walpole Middle School, on Oct. 24, were discussed. It was announced that the club’s Community Improvement Project committee will donate its budgeted funds to the Rockingham Recreation Department for use in purchasing new picnic tables for the Bellows Falls playground.

Newcomer Perkins vows to shake up Norfolk DA's office after landslide

DEDHAM — Voters in Norfolk County picked a new district attorney. Democrat Djuana Perkins in a landslide, with 71% of the votes across the county's 27 towns and one city, according to unofficial results . The political newcomer declared victory over independent Joseph Pagliarulo, who called to concede, after embattled Democratic incumbent Michael Morrissey opted not to run for re-election. Pagliarulo won 29% of the votes. There was no Republican candidate. Perkins told The Enterprise on election night she'd follow through on campaign pledges to shake up the DA's office.
