Londonderry cemeteries open May 1
LONDONDERRY, Vt. – The Cemetery Commission of the Town of Londonderry would like the public to know that the Londonderry cemeteries will open on May 1. Clean up of the cemeteries by the cemetery caretakers will begin immediately. To that end, please remove all decorations that have been added to the cemeteries over the winter. Any winter decoration items remaining on cemetery plots on May 1 will be removed and disposed of. The cemetery commission thanks everyone for their cooperation in this matter.
Rutland man convicted on federal drug and gun charges
BURLINGTON, Vt. — Lawrence Jackson, aka "Boo-Bee," 53, of Rutland, Vermont, was convicted in Burlington's U.S. District Court on seven drug and gun charges this week. When Jackson was arrested in Rutland on November 23, 2021, he was found to be in possession of a large amount of cocaine and cocaine base. A subsequent law enforcement search of his Rutland home uncovered multiple guns and a variety of drug paraphernalia. Due to his lengthy criminal record, Jackson is prohibited from possessing firearms.
