Xenia's 'Athletes in Action' teams with two Ohio companies to build giant hardwood court
XENIA, Ohio — After two decades in the making, Faith-based “Athletes in Action” in Xenia will soon unveil their long-awaited indoor sports facility. It features one of the largest hardwood floors in Ohio. It is 40,000 square feet, almost 10 times the size of a regular NBA floor.
Springfield, Perrysburg softball win to set up Division I district final matchup
CLYDE, Ohio — For the third year in a row, Springfield and Perrysburg are meeting in a Division I softball district final. The Blue Devils defeated Whitmer, 7-1, in the first game at Joe Wilson Field at Clyde High School on Tuesday, and the Yellow Jackets beat Northview, 11-1, in five innings in the nightcap. Last year, Springfield beat Perrysburg, 7-4, in a district final, and in 2021, the Devils beat the Jackets, 8-1. The rematch will be at the same site Friday at 5 p.m.

MECHANICSBURG – The Indians defeated Ridgedale, 12-2, in the Central District Division IV baseball sectional on Tuesday. For Mechanicsburg, Connor Shultz was 3 for 3 and Lane Poland earned the win in 5 innings and had 2 RBI. The Indians (17-5) advance to host Fisher Catholic on Thursday.
Paint Valley's Bell, Chambers commit to play football at Wittenberg
Paint Valley seniors Peyton Bell and Dom Chambers recently held a joint signing, with both student-athletes committing to play collegiate football at Wittenberg University. Bell, an offensive lineman, was named to the second-team All-Ohio list for offense his senior year, while also being named Southeast District Lineman of the Year, both by members of the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. The Scioto Valley Conference selected him as SVC Lineman of the Year.
