Jackson Lumen Christi baseball finishes run in the history books as runner-ups for the state title
EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Jackson Lumen Christi baseball made it all the way to the Division 3 High School State Championship on Saturday morning. Watervliet was ultimately able to take down the Titans 9-1 after a couple of big innings for the Panthers. Titan’s head coach, Phil Clifford, has been a part of some really good teams at Lumen Christi, but this season was special for him.

Watervliet 9, Lumen Christi 1: The Titans ran out of comebacks in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 state baseball finals against Watervliet. Lumen Christi committed five errors in the loss, but the future looks bright according to Coach Phil Clifford. “We have a nice mix of players coming back … should be loaded for the next few seasons.” Lumen Christi ends the season with a 30-11 record. Nathan Hinkley knocked in the only run for LCCHS with a single in the fourth inning.
Grass Lake school board names new superintendent
JACKSON COUNTY, MI - After two weeks of interviews and hours of deliberation, the search for the next superintendent of Grass Lake Community Schools is over. The school board has chosen Nick Angel, who currently serves as principal of Chelsea High School, as its next leader, effective July 1. He accepted the position by phone during the board meeting Friday, June 14.
