Second Phase of Christian County I-24 Reconstruction Begins Thursday

The second phase of a $25 million reconstruction project on I-24 in southern Christian County is scheduled to begin Thursday, bringing about another major traffic shift. The project is rebuilding nearly seven miles of westbound I-24 between the Hopkinsville-Oak Grove exit and the Tennessee state line. The first phase was completed earlier this month, and crews have since been preparing a crossover to move traffic around the next section of construction.

Work continues, southbound ramp to close at Exit 11 on I-169 in Christian Co.

Christian County seems to be a hotspot for road work this summer, and that work is continuing at Exit 11 on I-169 with additional rolling roadblocks possible. Those roadblocks would take place in the southbound lanes, according to a news release, but motorists need to be aware that the southbound off-ramp is set to close Wednesday.

Local traffic deaths trend lower as Kentucky rises

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) — Traffic fatalities across Kentucky are rising this year, but preliminary numbers from Kentucky State Police Post 3 show a different trend in South Central Kentucky.
