Another inch of rain possible Monday night in Sioux Falls

It's going to be another rainy night Monday in Sioux Falls, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service.

By Tuesday morning, the city could see as much as another inch of rain as storms roll through the area starting Monday afternoon, though severe storms are not expected.

Minnehaha County remains under a wind advisory until 7 p.m., however, with gusts of more than 40 miles per hour possible this afternoon.

Here's the weather forecast for the rest of the week, according to NWS:

This afternoon : Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 70. Windy, with a southeast wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight : Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 49. Breezy, with a southeast wind 20 to 25 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday : A slight chance of showers between and 4 p.m, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday night : A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. West wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday : A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 64. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Wednesday night : A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Breezy, with a north wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday : A 30% chance of showers after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 64.

Thursday night : Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Friday : Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

Friday night : Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Saturday : Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
