Quincie Richards reached one major milestone.

Is another awaiting the Royal High senior?

She led all girls triple jumpers at the CIF-Southern Section Division 2 Track and Field Prelims on Saturday with an all-time Ventura County best mark of 39 feet, 10 inches.

If wind legal, she betters the 12-year-old record of 39-5 set by Pacifica's Jazzelena Black.

Richards also qualified in the long jump (17-9.50). No county girls athlete has won the triple and long jumps in the same section championship. The only other county girls triple jump section champion was Sharon Manship of Thousand Oaks in 1987.

Richards was one of dozens of area athletes punching their tickets to the section finals next Saturday at Moorpark High.

Advancing to the section boys finals were Rio Mesa's Jackson Knowles, high jump, 6-2; J.R. Lesher, Hueneme, 3,200, 9:09.43; and Luis Aguilera, shot put, 52-4.

Camarillo's Trinity Tipton qualified in the girls shot put (39-8) and had the best qualifying mark in the discus (137-5).

Also qualifying were the Oxnard 4x100 relay (48.01) and Mikayla Oliver in the girls long jump (17-3.25).
