Letter to the editor: The town of Dillon is at risk of being taken over
I see that Jake Porritt has presented the next phase of his plan to remake — and basically take over — the town of Dillon. As someone who attended the Town Council hearing. which narrowly approved his lakefront project, it’s interesting that the warning from one of the councilors is coming true already. They warned that the financing vehicle previously passed for the Best Western site infrastructure gives Porritt too much power, and now we see where he thinks he can take us all, wether we want to go there or not.
Letter to the editor: Summit County must distance itself from Vail’s artistic censorships
The town of Vail recently cancelled Danielle SeeWalker’s artist residency, and this could be incredibly problematic for Summit County. Whether we like it or not, our community’s reputation is connected to Vail — and it’s now unfortunately become crucial for our local leaders to distance Summit County from even remotely being associated with artistic censorship. We absolutely must show to our locals and visitors alike that we’re not a superficial mountain community that shies away from discussing tough societal issues, and we absolutely must show that we won’t ever inhibit creative expression in our community through the thinly veiled guise of pseudo-progressive virtue signaling and myopic gaslighting like Vail has done to Miss SeeWalker.

Getting an oil change is one of the more mundane things a human has to do and one is rarely much different from the next. So, it’s special that Summit County voted Summit Automotive Group the best oil change in 2023’s Best of Summit. Owner-operator Jim Tinsley doesn’t...
Letter to the editor: My thoughts on the Keystone short-term rental proposal
As a full-time, voting resident of Keystone, as well as an Airbnb host, I am concerned with the first draft of the town’s short-term rental program. With my 10 years of work experience at a Keystone property management company, hosting a short-term rental for the last 11 years and my presence at numerous county meetings about short-term rentals since 2018 and attendance of 90% of the Keystone meetings over the last year, I fear our new town hasn’t got a clue.

Inclusivity and community-focused Meta Yoga Studios voted Best Yoga Studio in Summit County by readers
Meta Yoga Studios has two locations in Summit County but is ultimately one big family. Assistant studio manager Jackie Kullander thinks that attitude is what helps make Meta stand out. “I would say what makes us super special is the community that we bring together,” she said. “We have...
