Fraser Valley Elementary School hosts wax museum (with photos)
On May 9, the third grade classes at Fraser Valley Elementary hosted a “wax museum” as part of the classes’ biography book study. The one-hour-long event featured students dressed up as characters they studied and presented speeches as the character. Third grade teacher at Fraser Valley Elementary, Sandra Cormican, sent in these photos to Sky-Hi News.
Silverthorne doles out $50,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors
Silverthorne awarded $50,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors of the class of 2024 on April 3 during Scholarship Night at Summit High School. The Schmidt Scholarship, named for former Mayor Bill Schmidt who served the town in the 1980s, was awarded to 26 seniors who live in Silverthorne. In addition to meeting the academic requirements, applicants must have also demonstrated good citizenship, activity in school and community programs and an ability to succeed in their chosen field.
