Silt Police Car t-boned by another driver on I-70
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Just after 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13th, a reckless driver t-boned a Silt Police Officer. The officer was in a marked Silt Police Department Tahoe at the I-70 Mile Marker 97 Overpass. After the officer was hit by the reckless driver, they were transported by ambulance to the Grand River Hospital with minor injuries, and has been recovering since the incident according to a Silt Police Department Facebook Post.

Obituary: Eugene “Gene” Joe Diaz
Gene Diaz was born in Delta, Colorado to Dionisio and Petra Diaz on November 15, 1929, and passed away March 27, 2024, at his home in Silt, Colorado. Gene was married to Eva Fernandez on June 21, 1948, and shared 69 amazing years together. Gene was employed by Garfield County and worked in the road and bridge department for over 43 years.
