YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Police in York County are searching for a man who reportedly fled from officers after barricading himself in a room with a gun. According to the Newberry Township Police Department, officers were called the a residence in the 2300 block of Old Trail Road at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday to investigate a reported trespassing.
Man found dead after central Pa. shooting
A 21-year-old man was found dead after a shooting in York County on Thursday night, according to police. York police dispatched to the 400 block of North Beaver Street at 11:56 p.m. after report of a shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who died from a gunshot wound. The York County coroner’s office also responded to the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s name and hometown.

Child drowns in Red Lion retention pond
A seven-year-old boy has died in a hospital after being pulled from a retention pond in the Bear area. Personnel from various fire companies, County Police and New Castle County water rescue teams responded to the Estates of Red Lion Wednesday afternoon for a report of a missing child and possible drowning. Bystanders and an off-duty firefighter were already in the water looking for the missing child.
