The Walmart Supercenter in Short Pump will celebrate its remodeled look during a community celebration Friday, May 3, at 9 a.m. Upgrades to the store include a new layout, expanded product selections, and technology that allows Walmart associates to better support customers, according to company officials.

The store, at 11400 West Broad Street, is one of two locally to undergo renovations as part of Walmart’s Signature Experience program, which aims to create better shopping experiences for customers. (The other is the store at 900 Walmart Way in Midlothian.)

In November, Walmart celebrated 118 grand re-openings at stores throughout 30 states. In total, the company is spending $9 billion to upgrade and modernize more than 1,400 stores nationwide.
