Fall feed starting to fire ahead of Prairie du Chien Super Tournament
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. – The Mississippi River out of Prairie du Chien will host the Phoenix Bass Fishing League presented by T-H Marine Great Lakes Division for its annual Super Tournament on Sept. 26-27. The Upper Mississippi is a familiar venue for the division, both out of Prairie du Chien and La Crosse, and while the fishing is always pretty good, cooler nights that have the bass and baitfish on the move could make the bite especially strong at this event.

Gauger, who has been a columnist for the Caledonia Argus for three-and-a-half years, said that people in the community have asked her to compile her columns into a collection. For the last year, Gauger has been researching how to start the publishing process. “The marketing plan is kind of where I am completely stuck right now,” she said. “I want to keep moving forward, but right now I don’t quite know how.” Chamber members threw around ideas of who the demographic would be for the book: Houston County residents and people who can relate to small town life. Members also discussed including old photos from around the city; many of Gauger’s columns focus on her life growing up in Houston County. One suggested talking to other local authors who have connections in the publishing world and could help Gauger get started.
