It follows a university panel’s finding that he violated the school’s Senate Bill 1 policy on classroom bias, a finding later overturned on appeal. Russell, who was removed from two fall courses and now teaches one online course, traces the dispute to a 2025 lesson on the ancient Greek tragedy Antigone.
