Boat used in commission of infamous Lake Erie fishing crime sold at auction
CLEVELAND, Ohio – A boat used to help perpetrate one of the most sensational crimes on Lake Erie in recent memory has been sold. The 22-foot Ranger bass boat seized from its owner, Chase Cominsky of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, after he and his fishing partner were caught cheating in the Lake Erie Walleye Trail Championship in Cleveland in 2022, sold in an online auction earlier this week, for $82,000, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Monday start for USDA rabies vaccine drops in the Valley
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced plans to distribute oral rabies vaccine bait for wildlife in the Valley. The distribution begins July 29th and will run through most of August. The bait is green, contained in a blister pack and scented. The smell attracts wild animals, who eat the bait and are then vaccinated against rabies.

Struthers splash pad, Girard theater upgrades among projects funded by state
Several projects in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties are getting a financial boost, thanks to over $1.3 million in state funding. The funds will allow the construction of the Campbell Access Road between Struthers-Coitsville Road and Cynthia Drive. The access road will create a shortcut for the Campbell Police and Fire Departments to reach Campbell Middle School and the Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center. The road will also be open for public use.
