Buffalo tennis squads face smaller schools
Madras High School boys and girls tennis players traveled to Prineville Saturday, April 20 to face Sherman County and Irrigon. The smaller schools also faced off against Crook County while in Central Oregon. The smaller schools didn’t have full teams and only a handful of matches were played. The Buffs top two doubles teams handled Sherman County’s, the only two matches contested, while Irrigon and Madras split four matches, Madras winning the two singles faceoffs and Irrigon taking the doubles matches. ...
Small school tennis squads challenge Crook County
Saturday was a full day of tennis at Crook County High School with both the CCHS boys and girls teams competing against Irrigon and Sherman County, while Madras High School traveled to Prineville to competed against the two smaller schools. Unlike most Class 4A sports Class 1A, 2A, and 3A teams compete head to head with Class 4A teams in the same special districts. Junior High Rodeo held at new Sherman Co. indoor arena
The Oregon Junior High rodeo division kicked off their spring competition at Sherman County's beautiful new indoor arena in Moro on April 13-14. The area was represented by Clem's Caydence Wade, Matthew Tucker from Arlington, and Tate Turner, Ione. While results for this event are not available, the current standings for this school year show Matthew Tucker in a three-way tie for first in the Boys Bull Riding. Tate Turner sits fifth in the Boys Breakaway Roping. He is holding down 12th place in the Boys Goat Tying, while roping to 6th place in the Team Roping and 5th in the Ribbon Roping.
