Connecticut Hospital Settles Class Action Lawsuit for Reusing Insulin Pens on Patients
Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut, has settled a class action lawsuit almost nine years after alerting patients about potential exposure to blood-borne diseases from the reuse of insulin pens. In May 2014, the hospital's CEO informed 3,149 former patients that insulin pens obtained between September 2008 and May 2014 may have been misused. Five nurses were found to have misused the pens and received additional training.

Street Takeovers are sweeping the nation. On Tuesday (9/26/23) the Danbury Police Department issued the following statement on their Facebook page:. On Sunday morning, Danbury Police responded to a street takeover in the area of Miry Brook Road and Sugar Hollow Road. A large number of vehicles were blocking intersections and numerous cars were driving recklessly. Connecticut State Police, New York State Police and Ridgefield Police all responded to assist. Upon arrival, all vehicles left the scene. The incident is still under investigation. These types of gatherings are disruptive and dangerous to motorists, pedestrians, as well as those who participate. The Danbury Police Department will work with our partners and take the necessary measures to prevent these types of activities on our streets.

New Haven Night Market draws lively crowd to Chapel Street
New Haven’s semiannual night market attracted local artists and small business owners to share their talents with thousands of customers on Saturday night. From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., The night market occupied two blocks of Chapel Street — between York Street and College Street. The market featured four live performances, 58 street vendors and nine food vendors, including local restaurants like Oh K-Dog and Lazeez Indian Cuisine. Shoppers played with cornhole and Jenga sets, got temporary tattoos and participated in button-making and community mural painting activities. The Town Green District, the event organizers, also held a raffle and sold New Haven Night Market merchandise.
