SEMINOLE, Okla. (KFOR) — A graduating senior got a special surprise from his older brother who’s in the Navy. He’s been away from home for four years and on Tuesday, they reunited!

All it took was a Navy Sailor, a costume, and a creative plan to bring a big surprise to Seminole High School.

Moments before the big reveal, preparations began. Adam Cumings wasn’t supposed to get home until August.

His brother, Zackary Archer, is graduating high school and asked for one thing during the special time.

“He’s graduating…that’s all he wanted was his big brother. So we told him he wasn’t coming,” said Jennifer Parsons, Adam and Zackary’s mother.

The family set up a big surprise with a costume and a plan.

“I’m ready. He is not gonna know what hit him…at all,” said Adam Cumings, a Navy Sailor surprising his brother.

Eventually, it was time for the big reveal.

Archer didn’t even recognize his brother at first, but eventually ran into his arms and gave a big hug.

“Ms. Clark said to look over at someone who was a janitor and I looked over and I looked deep into his eyes, dropped the papers, and I was like ‘oh my gosh that’s my brother,'” said Zackary Archer, a graduating senior.

“All I’ve been hearing is that he’s been sad because all he wants is me here for graduation…it was the highlight of my year,” said Cumings.

It was a successful graduation surprise for the two brothers and a family back together.

“They are best friends. And I know much Zack yearned for that time with his brother and he’s got two weeks of it coming haha–it’s amazing,” said Parsons.

The brothers said the first thing they want to do is go to the movies together and hang out like old times.

Cumings is stationed in Virginia and will go back in two weeks.
