    HANGING BASKETS − West Branch Little Warriors is selling hanging flower baskets to raise money for the football and cheer teams. A 10-inch basket of flowers from Kridler Gardens is $20.     TOUR BUSINESSES – The Small Town Spring Home and Garden Tour of selected boutiques, artisans and retail shops in the North Georgetown area in Columbiana County will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tour stops will include Brunners Farm Market and Greenhouse, Flohr Farms and Cut Flowers, Homeworth Feed and Grain, Homeworth Sales and Service, Kridler Gardens, Lilies and Sparrows Photography, Naturiffic, Rivers Bend Farm Market and Greenhouse, Stryffler Family Farm, Susie's Gifts and Things, Sweet Waters, Two Maker Abode on Shoemaker Road and Woolf Farms Fruit Market Store. Stop at each business for a chance to win prizes. Maps are available at any stop.

    FABRIC FRENZY – Ohio State University Mahoning Country Extension Office plans its 5th annual Fabric Frenzy from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 21-22 at the Extension Office, 490 S. Broad St. in Canfield. Browse a large selection of fabric and other sewing items. Items will be in a wide variety of colors, patterns and sizes. All items will be offered to 4-H members interested in using them for sewing projects. The items will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis for a freewill donation to Mahoning County 4-H youth development. Those with an interest in sewing or who wants to start a new hobby are invited. The office will be accepting sewing material donations starting May 6, and donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday until May 15.     SEBRING HYDRANT FLUSHING – Sebring Village will begin flushing fire hydrants Monday. Flushing will begin at the Sebring Water Treatment Plant on Knox School Road and will continue north throughout the village until all hydrants are flushed. Flushing will also affect Maple Ridge and Beloit water customers. Customers might experience fluctuations in pressure and discoloration of their water during flushing. During these periods, postpone washing clothes and limit your use of hot water until cold water clears. Discoloration typically clears within 24 hours.

    MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS – Aultman Alliance Community Hospital plans a free education session at noon May 6 to discuss mental health issues and their impact on people’s lives. The hospital plans a health fair May 17 featuring health resource booths on various topics from noon 1 p.m. Every Wednesday in May, the hospital will offer free chair yoga sessions from 1 to 2 p.m. All events are open to the public, and no RSVP is required. Attendees will have their names entered into a drawing for a self-care/mental health gift basket for each event they attend.

    ALLIANCE MEETINGS – Two city meetings have been canceled for May. City of Alliance Zoning Board of Appeals will not meet because no appeals were filed. Alliance Planning Commission will not meet May 15, as no items were submitted.
