Schenectady, NY (WRGB) — The Schenectady father facing a manslaughter charge and endangerment charges for the death of his 5-year-old daughter, was in court Friday. Robert Buskey, 33, of Schenectady, is set to appear before a Grand Jury in County Court on Tuesday at 10 a.m., with a preliminary hearing at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Death of Cohoes native who went missing 30 years ago classified as homicide
The death of a Cohoes native who went missing from Wayne County over 30 years ago is being classified as a homicide. Judith Geurin was last seen on Feb. 20, 1991 in the town of Sodus. Her belongings were left behind in her apartment. Hunters found her remains in October 2020. And police have matched the remains to Geurin, according to WHEC-TV in Rochester.
Suspects in New York State Caught After Getting Stuck in Traffic
Police say two suspects who stole from a department store tried to make a break for it, with over one thousand dollars worth of stolen goods. The problem from them was that they didn't get too far. Now, both suspects are facing charges of grand larceny and conspiracy, according to WNYT.
Police: West Sand Lake woman was 3x too drunk to drive
A Rensselaer County woman is accused of driving while over three times the legal limit for drunken driving. Marla L. Ortega, 43, of West Sand Lake, was pulled over on April 27 around 3:30 p.m., after State Police received a complaint about an erratic driver on State Route 43 in Sand Lake. Troopers found the vehicle running in a nearby parking lot, police said.
Suspect in Albany man’s killing pleads guilty
The suspect accused of killing a 32-year-old man in Albany last November pleaded guilty on Friday. Dario Lewis, 32, admitted in Albany County Court to shooting Elijah Thompson in the chest. The incident took place in the area of Judson Street and First Street on Nov. 11 at around 3 a.m. Thompson died at Albany Medical Center.
Appeals court overturns Troy man’s conviction in 2018 Albany shooting
An appeals court has thrown out the conviction of a Troy man for a 2018 shooting in Albany. Jeffrey Walker was found guilty of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm. He was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison for the Oct. 7, 2018, shooting outside a bar near Lark Street in Albany.
