SUV and truck collide after Sauget police chase

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. First responders are at the scene of a collision involving a blue pickup truck and a red SUV at around 7 a.m. Multiple police agencies, including Sauget Police and Illinois State Police, were present at the scene on Route 157 at Falling Springs Road, just off Route 3. Two ambulances left the scene with patients.

Sauget Police had been involved in a chase in the area around the time of the crash. They were chasing a suspect in a pickup truck. The truck ran into the SUV.

The extent of the injuries in this crash is not yet clear. Both patients were conscious went they were taken to the hospital.
