Family remembers homicide victim as suspect appears in court

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The suspect accused of killing a woman in February in Saratoga Springs appeared in court on Monday. Sebastian Mabb is charged with second degree murder in connection to the death of Brianna Craig.

The judge granted the defense’s request for more time to prepare for trial. Mabb is due back in court in June. Family members and loved ones of Craig were in court for the hearing. They remembered her for her kindness.

“She was a ball of light,” her older sister Felicia Travis said. “She smiled in everything she did, and it was always 100 percent. She is just the most bundle of energy, and she’s such a warm person. So inviting, accepting of all people. She wouldn’t hurt anyone.”

Prosecutors said Craig was choked to death inside the Vanderbilt Terrace Apartments in Saratoga Springs. Police said the suspect and victim knew each other.

Mabb is being held in jail.
