Piedmont boys lacrosse falls in WACC playoffs
The Piedmont High School boys lacrosse team dropped a 10-2 decision to host Bishop O’Dowd in the semifinals of the West Alameda County Conference playoffs on April 24. The Highlanders are 8-5 on the year and await a potential North Coast Section Division 1 playoff berth. Piedmont went 4-1 against Division 1 schools during the season. Those brackets will be announced on April 28.
Jayda Noble signs with Cal Berkeley
(KRON) – Guard Jayda Noble is joining the University of California at Berkeley women’s basketball team, the Bears’ head coach Charmin Smith announced on Wednesday. “We’re excited to add a player like Jayda who brings a veteran presence and the experience of playing in one of the best women’s basketball conferences in the country,” Smith said. “She is a tremendous defender who will help set the tone for our backcourt and be a great leader for both our returners and freshmen class.”

Piedmont boys golf beats Berkeley in close match
The Piedmont High School boys golf team wrapped up its regular season with a tight win over Berkeley on April 24 at Sequoyah County Club. The Highlanders defeated the Yellowjackets 222-225. Derek Lee was the low card for Piedmont, shooting a one-over-par 36. Charlie Wright was next with a 43. He was followed by Dillon Casey at 44. P.J. Brayer had a 48, then Jackson Van Kleeck (51) and River Bloemker (53).
