Padres lose series finale 11-4

The Padres fell into an early hole on Sunday, as the D'Backs scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning off of Matt Waldron. San Diego answered back with 3 runs of their own in the top of the 2nd inning, two of them coming on a home run from Jackson Merrill. But Waldron struggled with his command for most of the day, and allowed two more runs in the following frame, essentially erasing the Padres' production in the top half of the inning. The Diamondbacks would score four more runs in the bottom of the 4th, and the rout was on, as the Diamondbacks beat the Padres 11-4 despite the Padres collecting 12 hits, including at least one hit from each starter. The Padres will now head to Chicago for a 3-game series with the Cubs before returning home to host the Dodgers.
