    Thousands of SDG&E customers left without power

    SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers were reported to be without power Thursday morning due to outages.

    The earliest outage was reported at 5:15 a.m. in the southern communities of Nestor, San Ysidro and Otay Mesa, according to SDG&E’s outage map. An additional outage was reported in that same area at 7:22 a.m.

    As of noon, a total of 1,385 customers remained without service in these communities. According to the gas and electric company, the estimated restoration time is 3 p.m. Thursday.

    The cause for the outages has not been announced at this time.
