The Padres lost a heartbreaker on Thursday, blowing a 5-run lead and losing 10-9 to split the 4-game series against the Rockies at Coors Field. It looked like the Padres were on their way to a big win to take 3 of 4 at Coors, but the Rockies rallied for 6 runs in the 8th inning off of Yuki Matsui and Wandy Peralta, as the Padres lost a very winnable game. The offense showed up early, building a 6-4 lead, punctuated by a 2-run homer from Ha-Seong Kim. Jurickson Profar's 2-run blast in the 7th inning gave the Padres a 4-run cushion. But the bullpen, which has pitched well for the majority of the season, wasn't able to hold the lead, and the Padres had to settle for a 4-game split. They'll return home for a series against the Phillies at Petco Park on Friday.
