I had a great couple days of skiing this last weekend. It was sunny, bluebird skies, and I even found some fun corn skiing. As much as I love the warmer weather and longer days, though, I'm starting to feel sad to say goodbye to the 23/24 season. It's brought some fun storms, new-to-me lines, and great exploration across the Wasatch and beyond.

This week marks the last week that Alta Ski Area is open and other resorts across the range are approaching their closing days. Snowbird, however, is planning on staying open at least through Memorial Day (May 27th), assuming conditions allow for this. However, Snowbird is transitioning to a spring schedule with comes with some terrain changes and lift status changes.

In an Instagram post on April 14th, Snowbird wrote: "Springtime is the best time at The Bird, and while we’ll be skiing and riding through at least Memorial Day (conditions permitting) we have a few updates to help you plan ahead and make the most of your spring:

🏔️ Beginning tomorrow, April 15, all terrain in Gad Valley below Little Cloud will be closed as we begin clearing the road for construction on Mid-Gad Restaurant and Wilbere Lift.

⛷️ Chickadee and Chickadee Bowl will also close, meaning no beginner terrain will be available at Snowbird for the duration of the spring.

🚙 We highly recommend parking in Entries 2 or 4 for the best access to the Tram and Peruvian Gulch.

For all the spring details, check out the Spring at Snowbird link in our bio. In the words of Guru Dave, 'Springtime is the best and skiing’s fantastic.'"
