Dr. Assali joins TidalHealth General Surgery

SALISBURY — TidalHealth is pleased to welcome Sarah Assali, DO, to TidalHealth General Surgery in Salisbury.

Dr. Assali earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Greensburg, Pa. She completed her general surgery residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburg, Pa., and her fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the Florida Surgical Specialists in Bradenton, Fla.

Dr. Assali has written several peer-reviewed publications and scholarly blogs. She has held leadership roles throughout her residency and fellowship, including curriculum chief for general surgery and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Assali is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, American College of Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

When Dr. Assali is not treating patients, she enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, gardening, basketball, mixed martial arts, and crafting. She is fluent in Arabic and is learning to speak Spanish.
