Dover Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Dover Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that left a man dead last night. Police received a call about the crash around 9:30. According to their investigation, 2014 Ford Focus, driven by an 82-year-old man from Dover, was headed south on North DuPont Highway approaching Kings Highway NE. At the same time, a pedestrian was crossing the roadway south of the intersection heading west. As the vehicle crossed over Kings Highway NE, the pedestrian continued to cross North DuPont Highway. At this time, the vehicle struck him. The pedestrian was not wearing any reflective material. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The identity of the man who was killed is being withheld pending notification of his family. Officers rendered aid, and the 57-year-old man from Dover was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment, however he later died as a result of his injuries.
