TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man showed up at Sexton Elementary School Tuesday afternoon to pick up a child and also ask for help for life-threatening stab wounds, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The man and Jose Rafael Rabel Oneill, 28, allegedly got into a road rage incident while stopped next to each other on 54th Avenue North, police said.

The two men got out of their car and started fighting. Oneill had a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times, according to police.

The man was taken to a hospital for his injuries, where he remained in serious but stable condition.

Oneill left the area but later contacted police. He is charged with attempted homicide, according to police.

All students and teachers at the school are safe, and there was not a school lockdown.
