The Dalí Museum is celebrating Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí's birthday with discounted admission on May 11, 2024 in St. Petersburg. Go Dalí, it’s your birthday! Saturday, May 11, would have been surrealist artist Salvador Dalí's 120th birthday (he died in 1989 at age 84), and the St. Petersburg museum is celebrating.

Adult admission, which is normally $29, will be discounted to $19.04 (the year he was born) on Saturday. That’s a savings of 35 percent. Kids 12 and younger get in free to both the museum and to the immersive dome experience “Dalí Alive 360°.”

Guests will also receive 50 percent off vouchers valid for Tampa Bay Rays games May 20-30, 2024 (one per guest, while supplies last).

Also exciting: The St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch will proclaim May 11 as Salvador Dalí Day.

The museum’s event also celebrates the 100th anniversary of surrealism. In 1924, the signing of the Surrealist Manifesto was a pivotal moment in art history, and the museum has planned to honor it throughout the year with exhibitions and a conference.

Guests will receive free commemorative birthday cards and treats (while they last), a free tote bag with purchases of $50 and more, and hourly free museum ticket giveaways.

There will be family activities in the Avant-Garden, a Dalí-inspired photo booth and a henna tattoo artist making “Dalínian” designs. Café Gala will offer food and drink specials, including a 1904 salad and mustache-shaped latte foam art.

The museum is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. A communal singing of “Happy Birthday” happens at 1:20 p.m.

The party continues every Thursday in May (including May 9), when the museum is open until 8 p.m. with specialty Dalí-themed drinks and desserts at Café Gala, raffles and games.
