    ST. PAUL, Minn. — St. Paul officers shot and killed a suicidal woman who pointed a gun at them Monday evening, police said.

    Officers responded to reports of a suicide in progress in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood around 7:15 p.m., the St. Paul Police Department said.

    A woman inside a home on Rose Avenue East pointed a handgun at officers and they shot her, according to police. She died at the scene.

    The officers involved have been placed on standard administrative leave.

    The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the shooting.
