Lynyrd Skynyrd named to Florida Artists Hall of Fame
Just a few weeks after playing a concert in Tallahassee, the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd learned that their legacy is going to stick around in the state capital. The band, which formed in the early 1960s on Jacksonville's Westside and went on to a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame career, is being inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. A plaque honoring the band will be placed in the rotunda of the state capitol building, although no date for the ceremony has been announced.
