It was all smiles at Central Library for a star-studded event to announce a new partnership between St. Louis Public Library, St. Louis County Library and St. Louis City SC.

The two library systems are teaming up to offer a joint summer reading and exploration program called STL Summer Adventure. Participants who complete the program can win CITY2 passes. Also, new City SC library cards are now available at both library systems.

"Just as the power of sports brings people together, so does reading," said Carolyn Kindle, St. Louis City SC CEO.

"STL Summer Adventure gives kids the opportunity to choose their own adventure and explore different fun pathways to learning," said Kristen Sorth, St. Louis County Library director and CEO. "Our amazing partners bring additional opportunities to the program, allowing kids and families to experience cultural and educational offerings in our region."

The program offers five paths of learning: STEM, art, outdoors, St. Louis and reading. Each involves a variety of activities, and children who complete three earn a badge. After three badges are earned, participants get a prize and are entered into a raffle for CITY2 tickets.

"The St. Louis Public Library Summer Reading Club has been a major program for generations of St. Louis children and their families, helping connect kids to the fun and adventure of reading," said St. Louis Public Library CEO Waller McGuire. "Partnering with St. Louis County Library strengthens the entire region. Two great public libraries working together side by side benefits us all."
