ST. LOUIS – A woman is facing charges for stabbing the father of their children to death last week in south city’s Southwest Garden neighborhood.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the stabbing occurred in the 4500 block of Cleveland Avenue.

Officers found the victim with stab wounds to his lower right back and upper right arm. The victim, who was confined to a wheelchair due to a prior injury, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police claim Tina J. Jackson admitted stabbing the victim during an altercation. Investigators found a knife with traces of suspected blood on it. The blade appeared to have been partially cleaned.

In a 2021 incident, Jackson was accused of attempting to use a knife to cut the victim before slashing his car’s tires. However, there is no record of charges having been filed in that incident.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Jackson with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Jackson will remain jailed without bond. A detention hearing is scheduled for May 13.
