One dead after SUV collides with motorcycle, name of victim released

SAINT ALBANS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has died after an SUV and motorcycle collided on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area of Miracle Drive on Winfield Road in Saint Albans this afternoon just after 2:00 p.m. when a motorcycle collided with an SUV.

Investigators determined the SUV was traveling south on Winfield Road when the driver turned left onto Industrial Drive.

According to police, the motorcycle was traveling north on Winfield Road and collided with the passenger side of the SUV as it crossed the northbound lane.

The motorcycle driver, 52-year-old Timothy Dawson of Tornado died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Winfield Road has since reopened, and investigators are working to determine if any charges will be filed against the SUV driver.
