BROWN COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) - Possession of meth landed a Horton man behind bars in Brown County. Brown County Sheriff’s Office said a search warrant was conducted by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force at about 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at 1145 113th Dr. on the Kickapoo Reservation.
Hiawatha runners cap regular season at Sabetha
The Red Hawk track team has stayed busy this season, as Hiawatha’s competitors continue to sharpen their skills in anticipation of the post season. After the completion of last Thursday’s Sabetha Invitational, the biggest races of the year are all that are left, with the Big 7 League Track Meet set to be hosted by Riverside this Thursday.
Sheriff warns residents about national database phone scam
BROWN COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities in northeast Kansas are investigating another phone scam. According to Brown County Sheriff John Merchant, county residents are reporting that they are being contacted by phone telling them that their phone number has been selected from a "National data base" to receive a subsidy check, or in some cases--grant money.
