Two arrested following robbery
The Alexandria Police Department identified and arrested two individuals in connection with a robbery and use of a firearm according to a release. On May 25, Fredericksburg, VA resident Michael Lazo, 19, and Alexandrian Deshaun Stoney, 32, robbed a commercial space in the 3700 block of Mt. Vernon Ave. The suspects were arrested and a firearm was seized.

Daylen Lile drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the first, stole second base, and then scored the games’ first run on a Sammy Infante double. Parent charged in Longdale Elementary School gun incident

Lee, Jr., president and CEO of Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative, was recognized for his leadership and guidance at the 19th annual Gaff-n-Go Rodeo, held May 19-20 at Meadow Event Park in Doswell. The event is hosted each year by the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC), and Lee was the original committee chairman, serving from 2010 until stepping down last year.

Fredericksburg Nationals fall to Delmarva, 7-3, snapping eight-game winning streak
The Fredericksburg winning streak died at eight games in a 7-3 loss to the Delmarva Shorebirds on Friday night. The FredNats, the Low-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, struck first, in the bottom of the second inning. Murphy Stehly lined the first pitch of the frame back up the middle for a double, then later stole third base as Armando Cruz drew a walk.
