Kessen shatters MAC track meet record with 12.19 in 100m dash
VERSAILLES — The St. John’s track and field squads made their way to Versailles High School on Friday evening to conclude the Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) track and field championships. Starting earlier in the week on Tuesday, the meet showcased predominantly field events, with the majority of running finals unfolding on Friday.

Baseball Recap: Piqua triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Josh Heath
Piqua had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Covington Buccs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Piqua also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Boys tennis: Sidney, Lehman Catholic seasons end in sectionals
TROY — Sidney and Lehman Catholic’s boys tennis teams had their seasons end in sectional tournament play this week in Troy. In Division I singles matches for Sidney on Wednesday, Brady Hagan beat Piqua’s Trent Townsend 6-1, 6-0 and Trotwood’s Teshawn Smith 6-4, 6-0 before losing 6-1, 6-2 to Tippecanoe’s Deacon Blake. Franky Herrara beat Butler’s Grady Nardecchia 6-1, 6-1 before losing 6-0, 6-0 to Tippecanoe’s Alex Darner. Myles Steenrod lost 6-1, 6-1 to Tippecanoe’s Ty Hoover.
Softball Game Recap: Perry Comes Up Short
Friday just wasn't the day for Perry's offense. They lost 24-0 to the Minster Wildcats on Friday. For Minster's part, Brooklyn Osterloh and Mikaela Hoskins were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Osterloh didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Hoskins pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Osterloh has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive pitching appearances. At bat, Osterloh went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double, while Hoskins fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5.
