Driver, passenger arrested on drug charges
POLAND – On June 3 at approximately 11:13 p.m., a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol along Indiana 42 near Poland, Indiana. The Deputy stopped a red Chevrolet pickup truck because he suspected the driver was impaired. During the traffic stop, indicators of driver impairment as well as other criminal behavior were observed. A subsequent investigation yielded approximately one-quarter pound of suspected.
Danville's Lawrence thought basketball was path, now committed to Indiana for football
Evan Lawrence went into high school planning to concentrate on basketball. After playing football since kindergarten, he put the shoulder pads, helmet and cleats to the side. Danville football coach Jayme Comer urged Lawrence to keep his options open and by the summer going into his sophomore year, the now 6-7, 255-pound Lawrence was back on board as a football player.

DeLorean Mason - SM Annabel Anderson - NM Crawfordsville girls track and field team was a young one this past season but that didn’t stop CHS from having a strong showing. Leading the way for the young Athenian team was sophomore Na’arah Byard. Byard who wasn’t at full strength during her freshman season due to a quad injury, was back at 100% this season and did the sophomore put on an absolute show. At the county meet Byard went a perfect 4-4 in her events as she was the county champion in the long jump, 4x100 relay, and the 100 and 200 meter dash. Fast forward to the conference meet and Byard shined yet again and earned a SAC title in the long jump and 4x400 relay. At the Harrison sectional she helped the 4x100 team advance to the Regional where there the four-some broke their own school record with a time of 50.31.

On this date, he was introduced to his future wife Cindy Weaver. 23-year-old Cindy Weaver was working as a Spanish teacher at a high school in Southern Indiana when she met Dave. When Dave accepted a job offer at the Plainfield Correctional Facility, Cindy took a job at Plainfield High School. She served as the Spanish department head for almost 20 years until her retirement.
