Bullard man pleads to 10 years for impersonating police officer
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Bullard man pleaded guilty to impersonating an officer on Monday. Jason Fears, 36, was arrested on Jan. 7, 2023, after he was reported as attempting to pull over a driver in Chandler while flashing blue and red lights. Fears was charged with impersonating a public servant, and he pleaded guilty in Judge Kerry L. Russell’s court on Monday. Fears received 10 years confinement for the offense.

No injuries reported as game wardens respond to stranded boat in Cherokee County
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — Game wardens are responding to a boating accident in Cherokee County Friday afternoon. Cherokee County Sheriff Brent Dickson said there are currently no reports of injuries and game wardens are trying to reach the boat. The accident happened near County Road 2120 in the Maydelle area.

Troup to be well represented at state track and field meet.
TROUP — Troup will be represented in five events at the UIL Track and Field State Meet Thursday at Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium in Austin. Trae Davis will compete in four events — the 200-meter dash, the long jump, the 4x100-meter relay and the 4x200-meter relay. Davis is joined on the relay teams by Brett Wells, Caden Claburn, Bryce Wallum and Noble Kendrick. Emory Cover will represent the Troup girls at state in the triple jump.

Gilmer softball sweeps Rusk to move into the 4A Region 3 Area Round
TYLER, Texas (KETK) — The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes softball team beat Rusk in the first two games of their 4A Region 3 Bi-District playoffs series to advance to the area round. Gilmer beat Rusk 7-4 in game one and 9-5 in game two to move on to the area round where they’ll face Little Cypress-Mauriceville.
Boil water notice rescinded for Caro Water Supply customers
NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - The Caro Water Supply Corporation public water system has rescinded its boil water notice issued for residents in Nacogdoches. According to a press release, due to an electrical outage that occurred on April 25 the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Water Supply Corporation public water system to issue a boil water notice. Caro Water Supply Corporation has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water is safe to consume and requires no boil before usage.
