Body Found Along Shoreline of Devils Lake in Benson County
BENSON CO., N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — Authorities in Benson County, North Dakota say a body has been found on the shoreline of Devils Lake. Sheriff Ethan Rode said the body was found Sunday night and it was clear from the condition of the body that it had been in the water for “quite some time.”

Bar Fight Fatal
The Mother’s Day altercation at Minot’s Original Bar and Nightclub that resulted in the death of Greyson Sletto, 32, Willow City, occurred inside the facility. According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in north-central district court, the fatal shots were fired by Travis McDermott, 40, Minot. McDermott admitted to an investigating Minot Police officer to shooting Sletto.

Advocates say a settlement has been reached to ensure that a fair system is re-established. The Native American Rights Fund recently announced the pending agreement with Benson County. In 2000, a court order spurred by a Department of Justice filing said the county's choice of an "at-large" election process diminished the political power of Natives in the area. But in 2004, the county went back to that process.

Lillian Moran, the oldest living Minnesotan, celebrates 112th birthday
MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The oldest living Minnesotan is celebrating another trip around the sun.Lillian Moran recently turned 112 years old.She grew up in Maddock, North Dakota, but now lives closer to family in Moorhead.Her family says they were supposed to celebrate her birthday back in March, but she got COVID for a second time.Lillian grew up on a farm and worked part-time at the general store -- known as a jack of all trades. "Her place was the center of attention. Every road grader that came by, the mailman that stopped in every day for coffee because they always knew she would have good baked goods." Lillian's family says she doesn't take any medications, and good genes seem to run in the family.Her mother died just months shy of her 100th birthday, and her grandmother was 103.Her secret to a long life: keep breathing.
