CHP attempted to pull over the vehicle, but it sped away and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle exited the westbound 60 Freeway at Fairway Avenue in the city of Rowland Heights and immediately got back onto the westbound 60 Freeway.

The vehicle continued westbound on the 60 Freeway and attempted to exit at Nogales Street and crashed. The driver then fled on foot from the vehicle and was captured later by sheriff’s deputies and the CHP.

CHP recovered a gun inside the suspect’s vehicle at the scene. No CHP officers or deputies were injured.

The suspect was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital as a precaution.
