Unity Church's Blessing of the Pets
Residents brought their pets to Unity Church of Venice for it's annual "Pet Blessing" event, with the Rev. Robin Reiter offering the holy blessings. Pets of all shapes and sizes came for the event and brought their owners, too.
Asbestos delays Punta Gorda hotel demolition
It’s an eyesore and a health hazard. Asbestos was found in the Punta Gorda Waterfront Hotel and Suites and the Hurricane Charley’s Raw Bar and Grill next door. “If they detect additional asbestos, that may cause some additional delay,” said attorney Derek Rooney, who represents the hotel’s owner, Amer Asmar.

Virginia Ave., Suite 112, Punta Gorda, has announced its participation in the 11th anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 27.
