This week in North Port, Florida, there were three incidents of concern. A house fire resulted in the death of two dogs, but the occupants, two adults, and three children, were unharmed. The fire was caused by a lightning strike and was contained to the garage. In another incident, two children from North Port took their mother's car and drove three hours away before being found by deputies in Alachua County. The children were reported missing, and their mother chose not to press charges. Lastly, there was a shooting at a Circle K convenience store, where a man's car was attempted to be stolen, leading to a confrontation and the firing of five bullets. No injuries were reported, and all parties involved fled the scene.
