Pa. casino fined for allowing banned gambler to wager
The operator of Hollywood Casino at The Meadows in Washington County was fined $10,000 for allowing an individual to gamble who was prohibited from doing so. Under a consent agreement with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board last month, Washington Trotting Association, LLC, operator of Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, agreed to pay the fine as a result of the incident, the board said in a press release.
Hours old cats found tied up in plastic bag left in Squirrel Hill
A group of kittens, just hours old, were rescued after they were “tossed out like trash” last week. Animal rescue Kitten Scoop in Greensburg tells KDKA Radio the six kittens were recovered in Squirrel Hill near the Parkway East.

Murrysville area: Heritage Trail poker run, car show, kids' craft mini-camps and more
Westmoreland Heritage Trail officials will host their annual festival and poker run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Murrysville. Each participant in the poker run will stop at five checkpoints along the trail to choose a playing card from the deck. At the end of the event, participants will have a complete poker hand, with the best hands receiving prizes for first, second and third place. This is not a race. Participants can choose an 8-mile bicycle ride or 4-mile (round-trip) walk to the checkpoints.
