ROSELLE, NJ - Roselle Public Schools announced that sensory park equipment has been installed at Dr. Charles C. Polk Elementary, Harrison Elementary, Washington Elementary, and Leonard V. Moore Middle Schools.

“Sensory park equipment has been carefully chosen to provide a stimulating and inclusive play environment for children of all abilities,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nathan L. Fisher.“This addition aligns with our goal to create spaces that cater to the diverse needs of our Community’s children. We believe that by incorporating sensory park equipment, we are not only creating a fun and engaging atmosphere but also contributing to our student’s overall well-being and development because all students matter.”

Installations include sensory-rich elements, such as tactile surfaces, auditory components and visually stimulating features. These elements are essential for supporting children with diverse needs, including those with sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and other developmental challenges. Special ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held on April 26th as an official unveiling of the new playgrounds.

“These enhanced spaces signify our unwavering commitment to inclusive education,” said Board of Education President Dr. Courtney Washington. “These parks are not just for our students; they’re for every child in our community to explore, learn, and grow. Let us celebrate these spaces’ boundless opportunities to ignite curiosity and foster inclusivity throughout Roselle.”

“We sincerely appreciate all those involved in making this project a reality. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact it will have on the lives of all of our students,” said Fisher.
