La. — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office needs help identifying a man they say shoplifted from a Dollar General in Amite. Police say a man entered the Dollar General on Highway 16 East around 5:30 p.m. and stole frozen food items and a large quantity of laundry detergent.

Man accused of killing mom of 4 while on a date is arrested after calling for help with flat tire
NEW ORLEANS (TCD) -- A 25-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly fatally stabbing a mother of four while they were on a date and trying to steal her car. According to The Acadiana Advocate, on Saturday, April 27, at around 2:30 p.m., Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a stabbing call in Hammond and found 31-year-old Carol Allen injured in the back seat of a car. Paramedics took her to nearby hospital, where she later died from her stabbing injuries.
