The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for an incident that occurred on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:45 am in Hicksville. According to Detectives, Officers responded to AAAA-1 Towing located at 34 Charlotte Avenue for an auto accident. Upon police arrival, officers observed a stolen Black 2023 Dodge Durango had struck a utility pole and driver had fled scene.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced a total of 17 transformational projects for Long Island as part of two economic development programs: the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and NY Forward. Six projects were announced for Huntington Station, the Round 6 winner of a $10 million DRI award; four projects were announced for the City of Long Beach, a Round 1 winner of a $4.5 million NY Forward award; and seven projects were announced for the Village of Lindenhurst, also a Round 1 winner of a $4.5 million NY Forward award.
Woman who ‘saved’ Brooklyn Bridge gives AI-generated grad speech
The woman credited with saving the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge in the 1880s was honored with a posthumous degree on Saturday — and even delivered a commencement speech to graduates with the assistance of AI. A Brooklyn man will be behind bars at Marble Valley Regional Correctional in Rutland for most of the year in connection with a narcotics case dating back more than a decade. The Vermont Attorney General’s Office says Maleek Drummond, 43, has been sentenced to ten to eleven months in prison with credit for time served. He’d pleaded guilty in Middlebury to possession of two grams or more of heroin.
