Second suspect in Jefferson County rock-throwing death pleads guilty
The second of the three suspects arrested and accused in last year's rock-throwing death of Alexa Bartell appeared in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday. Nicholas "Mitch" James Karol-Chik pleaded guilty to three new charges, including second-degree murder, in an agreement reached with the prosecution. Karol-Chik, 19, pleaded guilty to his role in a series of rock-throwing attacks between Feb. 25, 2023 and April 19, 2023. Menacing suspect accused of using counterfeit bill and racial slurs
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who is facing a charge of felony menacing after he allegedly presented a counterfeit bill to a business, and when confronted about the fake currency, began yelling racial slurs at the victim.
New day center for unhoused people set to open in Boulder

Man pleads guilty to DUI charges related to death of composer
ARVADA, Colo. — The man charged in a February crash in Arvada that killed a composer pleaded guilty Monday to multiple counts including vehicular homicide - DUI. Juan Ortega Torres Jr. also pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular assault in Jefferson County District and, as a result, five other counts were dismissed.
Car lands on top of 20-year-old driver in Jefferson Co. fatal rollover crash
